Collection questions
1. What is your name and how old are you?
My name is Tess and I am 8 years old turning 9 on the 9th of July.
2. What is your collection?
It is a Sylvanian families collection including houses, villas, cottages, sea side restaurants, grocery shops and cars.
3. How many years have you had this collection for?
3 1/2 years roughly.
4. What was the first piece of your collection?
The cat family mansion. I got this piece for my birthday and it is still my favourite piece of the collection.
5. Do you ever show your collection to guests?
Yes, All the time especially some of my close friends because they are really interested in it.
6. What is the most expensive piece in your collection?
Probably the cat family mansion or the car
7. Do you believe this collection has had a negative, positive or neutral effect on your personal and social life?
I think it has had positive effect on both my social life and personal life because my friends love to come over and play with them and personally, it keeps me occupied when I have nothing else to do.
8. How do you view this collection? Are you proud of your collection or would you say it has taken over parts of your life, has it become an obsessive addiction?
Yes, I am proud of my collection because it has something that has amounted over the years and become a whole city in itself. When I was younger it was a somewhat obsessive addiction as I always wanted to get more to add to the collection. The fine detail within the collection interests me (and my mum) and frankly she didn't mind me getting more because it benefitted her also.
9. What influenced the content of your collection?
At first I was looking for something new to buy and collect so I combined my love of miniature items and roleplaying and happened to come across Sylvanian Families which embodied both of those characteristics to collect and play with these items.
10. Finally, do you have any regrets regarding your collection, whether that be personal or economic wise?
No, as I said above I am proud of my collection and I wouldn't say that there is or was anything wrong that I should regret about it.
